How It All Began
Chris Gerhart, President of Crescent Event Productions, didn’t stumble into the world of AV by chance. He was practically raised in it. “I was 14 when I started working in my father’s AV warehouse,” he says. That early exposure to soundboards, cables, and event prep set the stage for what would become his life’s work. In 2013, Chris acquired the staging division of his father’s company and launched Crescent—with a vision to bring not just technical expertise but also heart to the event world.
What Sets Crescent Apart
When asked what makes Crescent different, Chris doesn’t hesitate: “It’s our people and our process. We don’t just plug things in—we dig deep to understand our clients’ goals, their audiences, their stories.”
Crescent blends cutting-edge technology—LED walls, immersive lighting, pristine audio systems—with an obsessive attention to detail. Their 70+ point pre-show checklist ensures nothing is left to chance. But Chris emphasizes it’s not just about being thorough. “Our team is empowered to adapt. Live events are fluid, and we thrive on that flexibility.”
The Team Behind the Tech
Crescent’s team is a reflection of Chris’s belief that diverse backgrounds create stronger events. “We have folks from hospitality, the military, construction, even music backgrounds. That range of experience allows us to approach problems from every angle.”
Chris also talks about culture: “We focus a lot on ownership and trust. Everyone here knows they have a voice and a responsibility to deliver excellence.”
Innovating Without Losing the Human Touch
As the industry evolves, so does Crescent. They’ve begun integrating AI for logistics, CAD modeling, and event feedback systems. “Technology is critical, but we never forget why we’re doing this: to move people. No algorithm can replace that feeling when the lights hit just right and the room goes quiet.”
Chris believes the future of event production will blend the precision of machines with the soul of human storytelling. “We’re investing in tech, but never at the cost of our people-first approach.”
Looking Ahead
What’s next for Crescent Event Productions? Chris sees growth in both large-scale staging and in-house AV for hospitality. “We want to be the partner that hotels, venues, and brands rely on not just for gear, but for creative leadership.”
He adds, “Every show is a chance to leave a lasting impression. That’s what drives us. We’re not just putting on events—we’re creating experiences people remember.”
Crescent Event Productions continues to shine by combining technical mastery with a personal touch. For those looking to elevate their next event, they are more than a vendor—they are collaborators in creating something unforgettable.
